Alexina de Magalhães Pinto Colloquium

The Colloquium "Alexina de Magalhães Pinto: history of women writers", proposed by the Graduate Program in Letters: Literary Studies of the Department of Communication and Letters of the State University of Montes Claros - MG, in partnership with the Women in Letters Group of Faculty of Arts of the Federal University of Minas Gerais, this year, which celebrates the centenary of the author's death, is proposed as an opportunity for reflection on the contribution of Alexina de Magalhães Pinto to the culture and literature of Minas Gerais and the Brazil.

This Colloquium - which will take place on June 28 and 29, 2021, through digital platforms - will bring to the scene debates on historical and cultural conceptions and perspectives on female participation in that context of Bélle Époque and on the work of women who contributed and contribute for the constitution of Minas Gerais and Brazilian literature and cultures. More specifically, the event will address aspects related to the life and work of the honoree, Alexina de Magalhães Pinto, with the aim of helping to rescue from oblivion this singular and extraordinary woman and her meritorious research and ethnography work, and also on relevance from the author's production to contemporaneity.
